OT Cybersecurity for Mining

The clocks are already running. Australia's Enhanced CIRMP Rules landed on 10 June 2026, and most large miners are in scope not because mining is named in the SOCI Act, but because of the ports, rail, electricity, gas and water assets they already own.
First deadline: 10 June 2027. Full uplift: 10 June 2028.
Mining OT was never built to be defended. Autonomous haulage and drilling run on wireless, which means jamming and spoofing are now safety events. Remote operations centres give one compromise the reach of an entire portfolio. Vendor tunnels into mills and crushers are a standing front door. And legacy plant control, specified with the mine plan and running for decades, can't take an agent or a patch.
Red Piranha secures mining operational technology from pit to port, mapped to IEC 62443 zones and conduits: autonomous fleet, processing plant, mine services and safety, tailings and water, rail and port, and the remote operations centre. Crystal Eye delivers segmentation, threat detection and response, and secure remote access, backed by a 24/7 sovereign Australian SOC. For the unpatchable legacy devices everywhere else on site, PECA (Passive Encryption Control Application) baselines normal behaviour and enforces it - no agents, no active scanning, no disruption to production.
The engagement runs as a six-stage program, not a one-off audit. Red Piranha defines the regulated assets and critical workers per jurisdiction, assesses risk against your chosen framework, then designs the zone and conduit model with target security levels and isolation points.
Deployment follows an observe, simulate and enforce sequence - sensors run out-of-band first, policies are tested against captured traffic, and enforcement rolls out in stages with operations sign-off. So, nothing goes live untested on a working site. From there it's continuous: a 24/7 SOC cadence, detection tuning and incident response drills against the 12- and 72-hour reporting clocks, all feeding straight into the annual assurance evidence.
The result isn't just a hardened site. It's the evidence your board and your regulator will actually ask for; an annual CIRMP report backed by 18 months of log retention and forensic detail on demand.
