Service Spotlight: Phishing Assessment Service
An organisation's first line of defence is not technology but its people. Most security incidents happen because of human errors, and cyber criminals use social engineering attacks to exploit this weakness.
Social engineering attacks have become increasingly sophisticated; attackers use different methods to trick people into sharing critical business information. The recent Mailchimp security breach that exposed dozens of customer's data is the perfect example of a social engineering attack. It's Mailchimp's second attack in the past six months, and this incident was similar to the previous one. The hacker targeted the Mailchimp employees and contractors in a social engineering attack and used compromised employee credentials to access some Mailchimp accounts. To prevent such attacks from happening, organisations must use due diligence.
Red Piranha's Phishing Assessment Service is a self-managed customised phishing assessment campaign to test your staff's cybersecurity awareness and get a high-level review of your organisation's overall security posture. The assessment can be launched from your Orchestrate Dashboard here.
The assessment includes - Phishing, Spear Phishing and Whaling attacks. Once the campaign is complete, you'll receive a detailed report outlining the result, including the number of employees targeted and what action they took concerning the phishing emails, such as clicking open rate and clicks on links, along with tailored recommendations to improve results.

Having an Incident Response Retainer in place can help an organisation manage and overcome a security incident.

New Year Security Resolution - Migrate from Windows Server 2012
The end of support for Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 (hereafter referred to as WS2012) approaches on October 10, 2023, it is important for infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders to develop and execute a migration strategy to mitigate the increased security risks posed by servers running this operating system (OS).
By cataloguing servers, applications, and databases with dependencies on WS2012, determining migration priorities, and creating a migration strategy, I&O leaders can ensure a smooth and successful transition to a supported OS.
