The Latest Red Piranha News

Cyber threats don’t always begin with sophisticated code or a complex attack. Sometimes, they start with something much simpler: a click, a password, an overlooked alert, or human error.

That’s why Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a timely reminder that cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility. The right technology is critical, but so are the people who use it, the decisions they make, and their ability to recognise and respond to threats.

It’s been an exciting month for the Australian defence and security community, and we were proud to attend Land Forces 2026 in Perth. The event brought together Defence, government and industry leaders to explore the technologies, partnerships and sovereign capabilities shaping Australia’s future security landscape. For us, it was an opportunity to connect, share ideas and demonstrate how sovereign Australian cyber technology can help protect Defence, Critical Infrastructure and the broader supply chain.

We’re also preparing for our upcoming Crystal Eye Essential Module 1 and Module 2 training sessions, designed to help customers and partners build practical knowledge of the Crystal Eye platform and get more value from its capabilities in their day-to-day security operations. Read on for the latest cybersecurity insights, Crystal Eye updates and training opportunities from Red Piranha, and discover how greater awareness, stronger skills and the right technology can work together to build a more resilient organisation.

Service Spotlight: Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)-Ready Connectivity

Graphic with text Building Networks for a Post-Quantum Future

As quantum computing advances, organisations need to prepare their networks for future cryptographic risks while maintaining secure, reliable connectivity today. Red Piranha’s Crystal Eye PQC-ready connectivity addresses this need by combining post-quantum cryptography readiness with high-performance routing, centralised policy management and integrated threat detection and response.

Aligned with the direction of Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) guidance on post-quantum cryptography, Crystal Eye supports a forward-looking approach to protecting data in transit and preparing distributed networks for the transition to quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms.

Key capabilities:

  • PQC-ready secure connectivity: Supports a forward-looking approach to protecting data in transit against emerging cryptographic threats, including the risk of future quantum-enabled decryption.
  • Resilient network performance: Intelligent link probing, automated failover, redundancy and link health monitoring help maintain connectivity across distributed sites.
  • Integrated threat detection and prevention: Helps identify and prevent threats, including phishing, ransomware and emerging attacks, across SD-WAN-connected branches.
  • Unified, SASE-aligned security controls: Combines secure internet access with centrally managed policies to support consistent security enforcement across distributed environments.
  • Centralised multi-site visibility and management: Provides network visibility, audit trails and branch-level troubleshooting to simplify operational oversight and incident investigation.
By bringing PQC readiness together with resilient networking and integrated security, Crystal Eye helps organisations prepare for evolving cryptographic risks without losing sight of today's operational priorities. The result is a more forward-looking approach to secure connectivity, designed to support distributed operations, consistent security controls, and visibility across the network.

Red Piranha at Land Forces 2026

Collage of photos from Land Forces 2026

Earlier this month, the Red Piranha team attended Land Forces 2026 in Perth, joining Defence suppliers, industry partners, government stakeholders and capability leaders from across Australia for one of the nation's premier defence industry events.

Over three days, our team engaged in valuable discussions around some of the most important challenges facing the Defence sector, including DISP compliance, critical infrastructure protection, OT security, sovereign cyber capability and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) ready communications.

The strong interest in sovereign, Australian-developed cybersecurity solutions reinforced the growing demand for trusted technologies that support Defence operations, strengthen cyber resilience and help organisations meet evolving compliance requirements.

We would like to thank everyone who visited us, shared their insights and contributed to the many valuable conversations throughout the event. Events like Land Forces play an important role in fostering collaboration across the Defence ecosystem, and we look forward to continuing these discussions in the months ahead.
